Background 

Project proposals are now being accepted from organizations interested in hosting one or more AmeriCorps members during the 2024 summer service term. These ten-week long projects are scheduled to take place from June 3, 2024 through August 12, 2024.  MTCC AmeriCorps places national service members with Montana schools, colleges, nonprofits, and government agencies in order to build organizational capacity, address summer learning loss, and increase food security among low-income individuals. The MTCC AmeriCorps priority areas are: College Access & Success, K-12 Success or School Readiness, Community Resilience (including climate resilience), and Veterans & Military Families. Timeline 

Deadline to propose projects - March 9, 2024 

Recruitment period for AmeriCorps members - March 15, 2024 - April 30, 2024

Recruitment deadline - May 1, 2024 (Service sites must send all accepted candidates to MTCC on or before this date)

Enrollment period - May 1, 2024 - June 2, 2024 (MTCC works to move candidates through the AmeriCorps enrollment process)

Project Period - June 3, 2024 - August 12, 2024

These year-long projects can be scheduled to take place either from June 2023 to June 2024 or August 2023 to August 2024. MTCC AmeriCorps VISTA places national service members with Montana schools, colleges, nonprofits, and government agencies in order to build organizational efficiency, efficacy, and program reach by completing one-year, capacity building projects. The MTCC VISTA priority areas are: College Access & Success, K-12 Success or School Readiness, Community Resilience (including climate change resilience), and Veterans & Military Families.
