Project proposals are now being accepted from college and university campuses (and partnering schools, government and nonprofits) interested in hosting one or more AmeriCorps VISTA members during the 2024-2025 service year. These year-long projects can be scheduled to take place from August 2024 to August 2025. We support AmeriCorps VISTA service member placements with colleges, universities, schools, nonprofits, and government agencies in order to build organizational efficiency, efficacy, and program reach by completing one-year, capacity building projects. VISTAs may be recruited locally from local graduates, or from the national pool. Staff recommend a recruitment strategy that creates a pipeline for local graduates to spend a year building capacity at their alma mater!

Our priority areas are: College Access & Success, K-12 Success or School Readiness, Community Resilience (including climate change resilience), and Veterans & Military Families.

Background

This proposal is intended for current MTCC VISTA partners interested in continuing their projects for the 2024-2025 service year. Organizations who are not currently partners, or for organizations interested in proposing a brand new project, should follow the instructions for proposing a new project on the MTCC website.

We look forward to reviewing your application for AmeriCorps service in the beautiful state of Montana. Positions begin on September 1st and November 7th. All positions conclude one calendar year after the start-date. MTCC staff meet to determine placements for candidates each week on Wednesday, meaning that year-long positions can be filled at any time. It is recommended that you submit your application no later than Tuesday of the current week if you would like to have the best chance of being considered for a service site placement on the following Wednesday.

An application will only be considered complete when MTCC has received this form via Submittable in addition to an application submitted via My AmeriCorps. The My AmeriCorps listing to which you submit an application does not matter, so long as it is for a Montana Campus Compact AmeriCorps project. For example, you may submit to this listing.

If you have any questions about the application process or would like to speak to a Montana Campus Compact staff member, please do not hesitate to call us at 406-243-5458 or email bowe@mtcompact.org. Applications are accepted until positions are filled. Applications are processed in the order they are received.
