Background
This proposal is intended for current MCNCE VISTA host sites interested in continuing their projects in 2025-26. These continuing projects can be scheduled to take place either from June or August 2025 to one year later. Organizations that are not currently partners, or for organizations interested in proposing a brand new project, should follow the instructions for proposing a new project on the MCNCE website.

Background:

Project proposals are now being accepted from campuses and campus-community partnerships interested in hosting one or more AmeriCorps members during the 2026-2027 term. These eleven month long projects are scheduled to take place from September 2, 2026 through July 16, 2027. MCNCE AmeriCorps places national service members with Montana colleges and universities as well as nonprofits and government agencies to address college student hunger and expand civic engagement opportunities on campus in an effort to foster student belonging and improve student persistence. 

The MCNCE AmeriCorps priority areas are: college persistence, civic engagement, and addressing food insecurity among college students and their communities.

  • Recruitment period for AmeriCorps members - current - July 25, 2026 
  • Recruitment deadline - July 25, 2026 (This is to ensure that MCNCE has enough time to get all members onboarding so they are ready to begin service on September 3, 2026) 
  • Enrollment period - June 1, 2026 - August 31, 2026 MCNCE works to move candidates through the AmeriCorps enrollment process) 
  • Project Period - September 3, 2026 - July 31, 2027
