Background 

Project proposals are now being accepted from campuses and nonprofit, k-12/ government organizations interested in hosting AmeriCorps members during the 2027 summer service term. These ten-week long projects are scheduled to take place from June to August 2027, with exact dates to be announced. We support AmeriCorps member placements with our affiliate colleges, schools, nonprofits, and government agencies to address community needs in education, including college access and success, summer learning loss prevention and K-12 success and food security.

Timeline 

Deadline to propose projects - February 26th, 2027

Recruitment period for AmeriCorps members - March 2026 - May 3rd, 2027

Recruitment deadline - May 3rd, 2027 (Service sites must send all accepted candidates to MCNCE on or before this date)

Enrollment period - April 2026 - May 3rd, 2027 (MCNCE works to move candidates through the VISTA AmeriCorps enrollment process)

Project Period - June - August, 2027 (Exact dates TBA)
